Activity of the Volcano:
Observed Merapi for a few hours on the 30th May. Low hanging clouds were present most of the time, and therefore limited observation. However small rockfall events were seen, and heard from my location around 4km from the summit.
Image Comparison
Comparing a photo of the summit area from this trip with previous photo taken earlier this year (January). It seems to me that the front part (Southern part) of the lava-dome has undergone morphological changes. This is very likely the result of the frequent small rockfall-collapse events that have taken place the last months, up until today.

The restriction/danger zone for Merapi is as of 4th June at 3km from the summit-crater, recommended by the Indonesian `Center for Volcanology and Geology and the volcano is at Level 2.
