17 December
Activity of the Volcano
Activity has increased today. Indonesian Volcanology Survey (PVMBG) noted a increase in Volcanic tremor yesterday, and also today with the addition in increase in shallow volcanic earthquakes. Ash emissions seem to be more ash rich today, and the output from the volcano seem to also have increased in intensity. In the evening lava-glow was observed, most likely caused by super-heated gas/ash from the eruption. No lava bombs etc. observed.
18 December
Activity of the Volcano
Activity seem to have dropped a bit today. The height of the plume and less ash. The Indonesian Volcanology Survey (PVMBG) supposedly, according to media sources, also noticed a decline in the tremor levels today. However as the photos below show, there were periods with more intense activity today too.
19 December
Activity of the Volcano
The eruption plume is now heading E/NE towards Probolinggo. Malang airport (West of Bromo) that have been closed in the past few days are now reopened. Intensity of the eruption seem to be the same as 18th December, but the eruption plume seems to contain less ash than previous days.
20 December
Activity of the Volcano
The activity level seem to remain the same as yesterday.
