The city of Bodø was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838. Bodø, located just north of the Arctic Circle, is the largest city in Nordland county, and the second largest in North Norway. It is also my hometown. Population 51022 (2017).

Out taking a walk, saw a Airbus A380 passing over. Saw quite fast it had the Emirates livery painted on it. But surprised when I opened @flightradar24 and discovered it was a Airbus test-flight (Emirates Livery), registration F-WWSA. Flight number: AIB259A.

Hurtigruta is the world’s leading premium Expedition Voyage Operator. The company started operating voyages on Norway’s western and northern coast between Bergen and Kirkenes. Their boats are frequent visitors to Bodø, almost daily.

Bodø, Norway 27 July 2011. The banner says: “Together sgainst terrorism”. As a reaction towards last Fridays terrorist acts in Norway, around 15000 out of 47.000 citizens in Bodø city gathered and walked in a march trough the streets to show sympathy for the victims’ families and condemnation towards terrorism. Most likely the biggest and most important march ever arranged in the city`s history after the second world war.
